AS PROMISED, HERE IS THE ALMOST OUT OF THIS WORLD 09 HONDA CRF 450R! AS YOU SEE FROM THE PICS ABOVE THAT THIS IS A NEW BIKE FROM THE GROUND UP. THE FIRST ITEM IS THE 449CC LIQUID COOLED 4 VALVE UNICAM MOTOR PUSHING A EYEBALL RIPPING 56.3HP AND 37.5LB/FT OF TORQUE. THE SECOND ITEM IS THE PROGRAMMED FUEL INJECTION THAT HAS A 50MM THROTTLE BODY AND A 12 HOLE INJECTION NOZZLE THAT ATOMIZES THE FUEL AT 50PSI PROVIDED BY THE FUEL PUMP. HUSQVARNA HAS SENT THE POWERSPORTS LIFE A SNEEK PEEK AT TWO BIKES OF THE 09 LINE-UP.THE BTM PIC IS THE WR 250 2 STROKE ENDURO BIKE. HUSQVARNA SHOULD BUILD A MX VERSION OF THE WR 250, OF COURSE HUSKY IS ONE A FEW TO STILL BUILD PINGERS IN THE 250CC CLASS. THE TOP TWO PICS ARE THE 09 TC 450 MX VERSION BIKE AND IT LOOKS GREAT! THE KAWASAKI MOTOCROSS LINE-UP FOR 09 HAS SOME OF THE IMPROVEMENTS THAT ALL THE TOP MANUFACTURERS HAVE ADOPTED FOR 09, EFI ON THE 450(TOP & MID PICS). THE 450 HAS BUMPED COMPRESSION TO 12.5:1, REVISED PISTON JET INJECTS OIL AT A NEW ANGLE FOR MAX COOLING, LOW FRICTION COATINGS, TITANIUM EXHAUST, AND A WHOLE LOT MORE. THE 450 IS STILL A STRONG PLAYER IN THE 450 RACE CLASS AND THE EFI HAS MADE THE BIKE A BETTER BUY FOR ALL THE RIDERS LOOKING FOR THE CRISP POWER AND FUEL SAVINGS THAT ARE AUTOMATIC WITH EFI. THE 250F (BTM PIC) IS STILL THE BIKE TO BEAT IN THE LITES CLASS. THE CHANGES ARE REVISED INTAKE PORTS, LOW FRICTION COATINGS, NEW CAM CHAIN TENSIONER SPRING THAT REDUCES MECHANICAL LOSS, TITANIUM EXHAUST, BIGGER RADIATORS, AND A LOT MORE FOR 09. KAWASAKI HAS PUT ENOUGH NEW ITEMS AND WEIGHT SAVINGS TO HELP THE BIKE STAY AHEAD IN THE VERY FAST GROWING 250 RACE CLASS. THE CRAZY THING IS THAT NOW THAT THE AMA LETS THE 250CC 2 STROKE  BIKES RACE IN THE LITES CLASS, THE 250 4 STROKES HAVE THEIR HANDS FULL AND THEY BETTER FIND MORE POWER TO HELP. THE BIKE THAT STARTED THE 4 STROKE CLASS HAS BEEN A STEADY FEATURE IN RACING AND WEEKEND WARRIOR CAMPS FOR YEARS AND THIS 09 IS NO DIFFERENT. THERE ARE A FEW NEW FEATURES FOR 09 AND HERE IS A QUICK RUNDOWN ON THE LIST OF NEW ITEMS FOR THE YZF 450F (TOP & MID PICS). FIRST, NO FUEL INJECTION FOR THE 450F IN 09. IT HAS 4 POSITIONS FOR HANDLEBAR SETUPS, MORE RIGID AND LIGHTER SWINGARM FOR CORNERING AND TRACTION, NEW LINKAGE, LIGHTER REAR HUB AND DESIGNED TO HANDLE THE 25MM AXLE INSTEAD OF THE OLD 22MM AXLE, PREMIUM CHAIN, AND A FEW OTHER WEIGHT SAVING ITEMS. WITH ALL THE OTHER 450 BIKES GETTING FI IN 09, I WAS SURPRISED TO SEE THE YZF 450F NOT SWITCH TO FI. THE 09 YZF 250F (BTM PIC) IS IMPROVED FOR 09 WITH TITANIUM EXHAUST THAT HAS A LONGER HEADER BY 60MM AND A 50MM SHORTER SILENCER FOR THROTLE RESPONCE. THE REST OF THE IMPROVEMENTS ARE THE SAME AS THE 450F RECEIEVED IN 09. THE ONE THING THAT YAMAHA DID IN 09 THAT WAS SMART, THEY KEPT THE COMPLETE 2 STROKE LINE-UP FOR 09. YAMAHA IS THE ONLY MANUFACTURER BESIDES KTM AND HUSQVARNA TO BUILD 2 STROKES AND THEY ARE BENEFITTING FOR IT. SINCE THE AMA WILL LET THE 250CC STROKES RACE IN THE LITES CLASS, THERE ARE MANY RACERS SWITCHING TO THE MORE POWERFUL AND FASTER 2 STROKES AND WINNING IN THE LITES CLASS. THE AMA IS NOT LETTING THE 250CC 2 STROKES RACE IN SUPERCROSS OR MOTOCROSS YET, BUT THEY CAN RACE IN ANY OTHER AMA RACES AND THAT IS AWESOME! THE ANSWER IS AS EASY AS, AWESOME! YAMAHA IS STILL BUILDING THE COMPLETE LINE-UP OF 2 STROKES IN 09 AND THEY HAVE SET THEMSELVES UP FOR HUGE SALES. OF COURSE YOU ARE HEARING ABOUT THE LOOP HOLE IN THE AMA RULES AND NOW THE 250CC PINGERS CAN RACE IN THE AMA LITES CLASS AND THAT IS HUGE. THE PINGER IS FASTER, MORE POWERFUL, AND THE BETTER BIKE IN THE LITES CLASS. YAMAHA, KTM, AND HUSQVARNA WILL BENEFIT FROM BEING 250CC PINGER BUILDERS AND THE  LOW COST OF REPAIR BILLS. THE 09 YAMAHA YZ 250 IS STILL THE SAME BASIC BIKE FOR YEARS NOW, EXCEPT FOR ALUMINUM FRAME, YZF SUSPENSION, AND MORE 4 STROKE TECHNOLOGY THAT IS PASSED DOWN FROM THE 450 TO THE 2500 PINGER. THE 09 HUSABERG FE 450 IS AHEAD OF ITS TIME TO SAY THE LEAST. THIS BEAST HAS SOME NEW TECHNOLOGY THAT STARTS WITH THE NEW 70 DEGREE MOTOR, CROSS-LINKED POLYETHYLENE PLASTIC SUBFRAME, EFI, PRESSURE LUBRICATION WITH 2 PUMPS, 6 SPD TRANS, AND WP SUSPENSION. HUSABERG HAS BEEN AROUND A LONG TIME AND THE NEW TECHNOLOGIES ARE GOING TO KEEP THEM AROUND A LONG TIME STILL. THE 6 SPD TRANS MAKES THIS THE ULTIMATE X-COUNTRY AND SUPERMOTO BIKE OFF THE SHOWROOM FLOOR, IT IS NOT A SUPERCROSS BIKE! ONE OF THE TOP NEW IDEAS ON THIS BIKE IS THE AIRBOX/ FILTER THAT IS BUILT INTO THE TANK, RIGHT UNDER THE FRONT OF THE SEAT. KTM IS A FIRST CLASS MANUFACTURER AND OVER THE LAST FEW YEARS HAVE MADE SUPERCROSS AND MOTOCROSS A 5 BIKE MANUFACTURER RACE AND NOT THE TYPICAL JAPANESE BIG 4! KTM BUILDS RACE READY BIKES AND ATVS, THEY ALSO BUILD A COMPLETE LINE-UP OF 2 STROKES AND THEN SOME. I GIVE ALL PRAISE TO KTM FOR PUSHING THE LIMITS TO RACE AGAINST THE BIG 4 AND WINNING. NO REAL CHANGES FOR KTM ON THE BIKE LINE-UP IN09, JUST A COUPLE OF PICS TO KEEP THEM FRESH IN YOUR MIND FOR THE UPCOMING 09 SUPERCROSS SEASON. ONE OF THE HOTTEST BIKES IN 08 WAS THE APRILIA RXV AND SXV, THEY WERE BRAND NEW AND CAME ON THE SCENE WINNING. APRILIA TAKES THE APPROACH TO DIRTBIKES AS THEY DO THEIR ROAD BIKES, THEY WANT TO BE THE BEST! APRILIA DID NOT SIT BACK IN 09 EITHER, THE BIKES ARE BETTER AND MORE REFINED IN 09. THE 77 DEGREE V-TWIN MOTOR PUMPS OUT HUGE POWER AND THE NEW TECHNOLOGIES THAT ARE PLACED ON THESE BIKES ARE AWESOME. APRILIA INTEGRATES THE CYLINDERS INTO THE CRANKCASES, 38MM EFI, SINGLE PIECE CRANKSHAFT, 12,000 RPM REV LIMITER, SACHS SUSPENSION, AND A LOT MORE. THESE BIKES ARE FOR REAL AND APRILIA JUST KEEPS MOVING THE TREND TO HIGHER STANDARDS ON ALL FRONTS. THIS BIKE IS BUILT RACE READY AND THE QUALITY SHOWS. THE BIKE HAS A DOHC 249CC LIQUID COOLED MOTOR, 6 SPD TRANS, 43MM FORKS, 17" WHEELS, AND A 33.9" SEAT HEIGHT. I KNOW THAT ALL THE MANUFACTURERS ARE KEEPING THE SLEEK LOOK IN MIND, BUT THE SMALL TANKS ON THESE BIKES LIMIT THEIR RANGE. THE KLX HAS A 2.0GAL TANK AND YOU WILL BE REFUELING THE BIKE OFTEN.  


HONDA WANTED TO TRY A PURPOSE BUILT SUPERMOTARD BIKE IN 09. WELCOME THE BRAND NEW BIKE FOR 09, THE HONDA CRF 230M. IT HAS A 223CC AIR-COOLED 4 STROKE MOTOR, 30MM CARB, 6 SPD TRANS, 37MM SHOWA FORKS, DISC BRAKES, DUNLOP TIRES, AND A #520 O-RING CHAIN. BLACK IS THE ONLY COLOR AND IT SHOULD BE A GREAT BIKE. TM RACING SENT A LIST OF A FEW MODIFICATIONS THAT WERE MADE TO THE 2 STROKE AND 4 STROKE LINE-UP. OH, THAT IS RIGHT, TM RACING DOES BUILD A COMPLETE LINE-UP AND THEN SOME OF 2 STROKES. TM RACING IS MOST FAMOUS FOR BUILDING KART RACING MOTORS, BUT THEIR BIKES ARE RACE READY AND HAVE A LOT OF TRICK FEATURES. SOME OF THE MODS WERE REVISED FRAMES ON ALL BIKES, SELECTABLE CDI MAPS THAT YOU ADJUST FROM THE HANDLEBAR SWITCH ON PINGERS, IMPROVED EXHAUST TIMING, CARB, SHORTER PISTON ON THE STROKERS.
